Long weekend.
I celebrated my 28th birthday over the weekend. Nothing fancy. Had a wonderful time with Jasmine and friends, then with my family and to cap it off, dinner at Resorts World Sentosa. No, I didn't get to go gambling over the weekend. It was nice to get some off time too since it was Hari Raya last friday too. Anyway, the year is almost over. Usually I plan some goals for myself every year, like doing the Standard Chartered Marathon or Army Half Marathon or Nike Run or the New Balance Run or the Sun Down Marathon or sometimes just do them all. Well for starters, my goal for this year has changed slightly. My biggest goal was the planning for my wedding. I didn't sign up for any runs because my knnes have been hurting and I planned to go to 2 places I've never visited by the end of the year. I will be going to Hong Kong and Penang. I've never been to either. However, the year is coming to a close and I need to start setting some goals for myself. Well, first goal is as usual, do well in my studies. Juggling a full time job and University Studies can be rather challenging. Second, I intend to take part in my first ever Triathlon. I know i can ride a bike and run well enough. Its the swimming that is going to be challenging. I can swim, its just that I'm not very fast. I know I don't have to be the fastest but I rather not be the last one out of the water and have to make up a lot of ground on the cycling and running phase. Oh well... training, here I come.

Its been really busy.
Wow, almost a month has passed I believe since I last blogged something in here. Its been a super busy month. National Day, House warming parties, long hours at work and the usual other stuff life school and family. There was even on week last month I hardly got to see my wife. I went to work almost everyday from 8am till 10pm at night. I've requested for a transfer out of my current office. I want something more stable. A desk bound job that lets me work like everyone else from 8am -5.30pm from Monday to Friday. No weekends, no longs hours, no shifts and no weekends. Its not that I am lazy and don't want to work but I would like to spend some time with my family too. My wife works too and I would like to see her for dinner, have a couple of days in the week to meet my parents for dinner as well as have dinner with my in-laws. At the rate I'm working, I hardly have time for myself let alone my wife and family. Oh well, I hope my transfer goes through and I get the posting that I'm hoping for. Praying really hard about it.
Need to choose my new courses for next semester at school. Looking forward to going back to school. I've also set myself a new goal for next year. For those who know me well, I usually set a few goals for the year when it comes to things like marathons and stuff. I usually run a few half marathons and full marathons a year. However, since I injured my knee, running long distances have become a really painful experience. So next year, I've decided to take part in my first triathlon. Swimming and cycling is easier on my knees plus the running distance is much shorter than marathons or half marathons. So, I'm going to train for my first OSIM Triathlon next year. I run and cycle regularly so thats not a big issue. Swimming however is going to be a big issue. Yes, I am an avid diver and consider myself a rather good swimmer however, I've not tried swimming at pace. I know I can cover the distance it's just how long am I going to take. I don't really want to be the last one out of the ocean you know. Well, I guess that means I need to start swimming more often now. Lots of sun block. Look out Sentosa!

Aonther day, another party.
Yes, I know, I've not been updating this thing regularly. Sorry. I've been busy. Anyway, today has been a day of cleaning and clearing. Its officially our house warming party tonight and everyone on Jas's side of the family is coming. My family is coming tomorrow, so its going to be another day of rushing all over the place. Well, I need to get back to the cleaning and helping Jas with the food. I'll put up some pictures of the party later. Cheers.

Celebration.
Today we celebrated. A celebration 2 years in the making. A celebration of a new title. Today we celebrated Jas's graduation from NIE. She's been a student there for the last 2 years. Training to become a teacher. I couldn't be there for her graduation due to work but I did manage to make it in time for the photo sessions after it. After her graduation ceremony we went to buy durians, drop them off at a few friend's homes and then we went out for dinner with her parents.

After dinner mints.
Well, dinner with my in-laws went according to plan. Dinner was simple, fried eggs, stir-fried cabbage, roasted chicken with pork on the side and rice. Jas did a wonderful job of cooking the dishes. I did what I could to help prepare and clear up after dinner. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the food and it's all gone now. Tomorrow is Jas's graduation. She officially graduates from NIE. Sadly I won't be able to attend her graduation due to work. Her parents will be attending it and I'll meet them straight after work to go out and celebrate with dinner somewhere. So proud of her. Anyway, it't getting late. I want to catch Glee on TV in a while. So good night and sweet dreams world.
Paradigm Shift.
0600H - Woke Up
0630H - Left home
0645H - Dropped Jas off at work
0710H - Reached my office
0725H - Warm Up
0730H - IPPT
Chin Ups - 9
Sit Up - 40
Standing Board Jump - 239cm
Shuttle Run - 9.7s
2.4KM run - 12mins 13secs
(Happy with the results from the 4 stations but super disappointed with 2.4KM run)
0900H - Had porridge for breakfast
0930H - Left office for IKEA
1000H - Bought folding chairs
1030H - Returned Home
1045H - Hanged clothes out to dry and put a new batch of clothes for washing
1100H - Swept the floor and cleared out the trash
Now I'm going to wash both the toilets and vacuum the house. My in-laws are coming over for dinner tonight. Need to clean up the house and prepare dinner. I know its still early to cook dinner but still have to clean the house. A month ago, if I had to take my IPPT, I'd just go, run and come home. I'll bathe and probably go back to bed. Now that I'm married, Ive got to wash my dirty running gear, clean the house and prepare for guest coming over for dinner tonight. I'm not complaining but a new chapter of my life has begun and with it comes new responsibilities. I don't have my mum and dad cleaning up behind me and doing the house hold chores for me. I've got to learn to do them all by myself now.
Well, the toilets await my scrubbing. I'll post some pictures of what I cooked for dinner later tonight. Cheers.

First time.
It's been almost a month since I got married. Life changes drastically after you get married. Surprisingly, it has not changed for the worse. Being married it not has hard as I thought it would be. I guess it's easier when the person you marry is just so perfectly wonderful and complements you in every way. I know, you may say that it's till early and problems will arise and I'll learn married life is not always a bed of roses. I agree but I think Jasmine and me are on the right path. Honestly, the biggest change so far has been looking after our own home. Living with your parents for so long, you take for granted everything you parents have done for you, your whole life. Now when you don't have mum to cook and clean for you, its really different. We have to do everything ourselves. It makes you feel more appreciative of your parents and all the years of doing things for you. Well, it's almost 1pm. need to go get ready for work. This is my first post and well, there will be a lot more. What life throws at me, I'll share it with you all. Cheers.
